The Association of Private Enterprise Education (APEE) will host the Eleventh Annual Undergraduate Research Competition, hosted at the APEE 46th Meeting, April 3-5, 2022 at the Paris Las Vegas and Bally’s Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV.
Selected undergraduates will be invited to present their research at a poster session that will take place in conjunction with an all-conference reception. Participants should be prepared to talk to professors and other attendees about their research.
Submission Guidelines and Eligibility Requirements
Nominations and application should be submitted by email to Dr. Alexandre Padilla at email@example.com by the deadline of Monday, January 31, 2022.
This proposal should outline the research question, methodology, basic literature, and expected findings. APEE encourages students to work with their advisors or faculty sponsor to ensure that the proposal meets the standards of the profession. Feel free to contact Dr. Alexandre Padilla at the above address with any questions.
Please note that all nominees and applicants must be 21 years of age by April 3, 2022 to be eligible for an invitation to participate. Nominations and applications should include the following information and attachments:
- The entire paper or a 600-word abstract;
- The undergraduate student’s contact information;
- A copy of the undergraduate student’s driver’s license or other official document showing proof of age (21+); and
- Sponsor Responsibility Agreement
Additional Note About Eligibility
The APEE Executive Committee requires that all students, who want to participate in the Undergraduate Research Competition and attend the APEE meeting, be accompanied by a faculty sponsor. Faculty sponsors and students must complete and sign a Sponsor Responsibility Agreement Form, which explains student and faculty responsibilities and obligations with respect to presenting and attending at the APEE meeting. The sponsor responsibility form is available at the following URL: Sponsor Responsibility Agreement. All students and sponsoring faculty must comply with all stipulated requirements.
The APEE Undergraduate Research Competition committee will select and notify finalists within two weeks of the Monday, January 31, 2022 deadline. Successful applicants should register for the conference by Friday March 4, 2022 to obtain the discount pre-registration rate (after that date, a $50 late registration fee will be required).
Unfortunately, APEE cannot offer registration or travel support for selected undergraduates. APEE encourages students to contact their institution’s Office of Student Activities or faculty sponsors for potential travel funding. An example of the type of poster board that the students should use to display their materials can be found at the following link: Staples White Corrugated Display Board.
Awards for top undergraduate papers will be presented during the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
Thank you for your support of undergraduate research to advance private enterprise education.
