The John Templeton Prize

Through a generous grant from the John Templeton Foundation, the Association of Private Enterprise Education invites submissions to the Journal of Private Enterprise and competition for the John Templeton Prize for the best paper(s) published each year.

In 20 years the Journal of Private Enterprise has become an important forum for scholarship in private enterprise. It has developed a rich mix of contributors ranging from Nobel Prize winners to promising younger scholars, spanning the full range of areas where private enterprise applies, including economics, entrepreneurship, public policy, history, religion, and philosophy. The Journal invites submissions for a small fee; papers presented at the APEE conference receive a waiver.

The Journal of Private Enterprise is published twice annually. All papers are blind reviewed by the board of editors and published papers are reported in major indexes including Econ-Lit. A recent addition has been a section on educational notes that reports on innovations in explaining private enterprise education to students. Each year the Journal editorial board will recognize outstanding contributors with the new John Templeton Prize for the best article published in that year. The Templeton Prize of $1,100 and a commemorative plaque will be awarded at APEE's annual international conference in April.

While a subscription to the Journal is included with membership in the Association of Private Enterprise Education it can be purchased separately. Library subscriptions are also available. The Journal, recognizing the profound effect of the spread of democracy and free markets on the world today, is making a major effort to expand its international readership.
