Distinguished Scholar Award
The Distinguished Scholar Award is presented each year to a member of
APEE who has, over a sustained period of years, made a significant contribution
to the research and literature of free market economics. Recognizing that
ideas which are not communicated are ideas which will have no impact,
this award is presented to those among us who are the thinkers and communicators.
Those, who by the dint of rigorous research and clear thinking, have communicated
to their colleagues in academe and the public in general the fundamental
understandings of the market economy and the system of entrepreneurship
which is integral to it.

Douglas Den Uyl and Douglas Rasmussen ("The Two Dougs") receive the
Distinguished Scholar Award
from the APEE 2012 President Benjamin Powell.
